House of Origin were really honoured to have the renowned Sydney architectural photographer Michael Nicholson document our recently completed project House 2067. So, just to be cheeky, we thought we could post up some of our pics of the day, as taken by the House of Origin director Zander, while Michael got on with the real photography. While Zander ran … Continue reading →

So, a fantastic thing about an interior refit of an existing apartment home is the opportunity to work within a reduced field of parameters. The space itself is small, there are no neighbours to overshadow, nor is there a “site” to consider, aside from what is viewed from the winter garden and the extent of the building … Continue reading →

It is with much anticipation that House of Origin can now say that one of our major projects, House 2067, is so close to completion we can almost taste the champagne. With the final internal items being finished this week, the windows getting a thorough clean and the last down-pipes being connected to the rainwater … Continue reading →

Over a year ago these timbers were removed from our project, House 2067. They came from a variety of sources including the deck, skirting and architraves, pergola and even some shelving units. Some of this timber is over 100 years old, perfectly seasoned and ready to be stably laminated into cutting boards, giving not only … Continue reading →

A very exciting day as House of Origin’s first retail store nears completion. This project came into our office in September of 2013 and will be trading by Friday January 10th, 2014. It would have been completed earlier had it not been for the Christmas period, but it is very satisfying to work at this … Continue reading →

House of Origin is very pleased to announce the design approval for our second shop fit-out at Mirvac’s Stanhope Gardens shopping complex, in Sydney’s western suburbs. This great little hairdressing salon project came into our office as part of Mirvac’s general maintenance program for the centre, but it really has allowed the client to consolidate their 2 … Continue reading →

I keep getting pestered by my friends and family to put up some recent pics of our office’s main project, so I thought I would put together a collection of some of the bits that have started to come together in this last 10% of the project. It really is a truism that the laaast … Continue reading →

Fact: You may not think it, but so much on a constructions site is white. Maybe they don’t stay white for very long, but a lot of interesting things start off as white and then either get filthy, covered up or demolished. This is more of a photo-post than a verbal one, simply because I … Continue reading →
